Roger Marcel Sanche

With great sadness, the Sanche family has announced the sudden passing of Roger, Age 88. My Father and Best Friend.
Throughout his lifetime Roger managed/owned many businesses in Niagara Falls, including The Villager Restaurant, Rainbow Dairies, Wooden Paddle Fudge Shop, and later The Fudge Factory (Hamilton), and several convenience stores including Mark's Milk. Also employed by Pepsi in the '60s (Supervisor), 7-Up in '70s (Plant Manager, Burlington), and Hostess-FritoLay (1997 retired). Soon after retirement, he continued working with the same work ethic for Sunstrum’s Florist Shop; a job which he genuinely loved. He also rebuilt himself his beautiful home, inside and out, in Niagara Falls.
Born in St. Boniface, a French community in Manitoba, Roger left home to work at the age of 13 (His father, Henri, passed when he was only 2 yrs old). Then, only to return home due to homesickness (He faked a bad toothache because he wanted to go back home)... He once again left home at the age of 16, following his brothers. and first worked at a hotel downtown Toronto as a busboy. His journey continued making his way to the Niagara area.
Beloved husband of Jacqueline (Jackie Parker) of 44 years; loving father of Debbie, Darlene, Donna, Mark, and Darryl. Predeceased by 10 siblings, survived by sister Denise Lessard and sister in law Leila Constable. Forever loved by grandchildren, Jason, Tyler, Rene, and Josh. Dearly missed by many extended family members, friends, and of course, his dogs, Wally and Tiger. His love for life and strong work ethics were admired and respected by his family and community. As sad as this moment is, we knew this was how he wanted to go... In his own home on his own terms and in relatively good health.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Niagara Falls Humane Society. Due to Covid-19, no funeral services will be held, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
