http://www.MyWhealthFormula.com In Stephen Covey Quotes - My 10 Favorite Stephen Covey Quotes Today I want to acknowledge one of the true Gurus of personal development who passed away last year, Steven Covey. He's probably best known for his classic book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" that has impacted and influenced leaders throughout the world. To me the essence of Steven Covey is captured in his dedication of the book where he writes "To my Colleagues, Empowered and Empowering"./nThat is so powerful to me because it says that he is a part of this dynamic existence whereby he is being empowered by his relationships and interactions with others, while at the same time he is passing on what he has been given, thereby empowering others. To me that is the foundation of a successful business and a successful life. Helping ourselves by helping others and the rather illogical concept that in order to keep what we have, we have to give it away!/nThis leads into one of my favorite quotes from Stephen Covey which is:
1) Life is not accumulation, it is about contribution./nJust imagine if you were the only person on earth right now. You could have everything in the world but you wouldn't have anyone to share it with. How happy would you be. I know I sure wouldn't be happy at all. This puts into perspective the true value of material possessions when placed against the value of personal relationships./nAnother of my favorite Stephen Covey quotes is: /n2) I have an abundance mentality: When people are genuinely happy at the successes of others, the pie gets larger./nWhen you really take to heart the concept of helping others to get what they want and feel the joy of their success the laws of reciprocity will take over and you will receive that which you are striving for./nAnd my third favorite Stephen Covey Quote is:/n3) Live out of your imagination, not your history./nGood or bad we cannot change what has happened in our past. We should not rest on our laurels, nor should we dwell on our misfortunes because neither one will determine our future. They may have had a bearing on how many obstacles we have to deal with, but they will not determine the outcome of our actions. We need to keep in our minds the picture of who and where we want to be and where we are going, not where we have been./nHere are the next 7 of my favorite quotes:/n4) There are three constants in life... change, choice and principles./n5) In the last analysis, what we are communicates far more eloquently than anything we say or do./n6) Trust is the glue of life. It's the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It's the foundational principle that holds all relationships./n7) When you really listen to another person from their point of view, and reflect back to them that understanding, it's like giving them emotional oxygen./n8) The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities./n9) Our character is basically a composite of our habits. Because they are consistent, often unconscious patterns, they constantly, daily, express our character./n10) The key is taking responsibility and initiative, deciding what your life is about and prioritizing your life around the most important things.
