This is a mechanics tip for all the owners of these Jeep Cherokee's with the 3.2 V6. The schematic for your serpentine belt installation is going to leave you extremely frustrated when it fails on the side of the road. This is by far what Jeep should have done from the factory, but lets just say somebody missed an important serviceability factor. Please pass the word on this mechanics tip as everyone should keep a spare belt (the right length belt that allows you to repair your vehicle without having to remove the lower radiator hose assembly from the water pump. UNBELIEVABLE JEEP, UNBELIEVABLE!! They dismissed the entire premise of a serpentine belt drive system and its maintenance.
PS DO NOT TRY TO CHANGE THIS BELT FROM ABOVE, just get the wheel off and remove the inner fender plastic and it will only take you 45 to 60 minutes. |
